Things you did Growing up as a Nigerian child

Growing up in a Nigerian home can be one of the most interesting experiences ever. From our strict but extremely funny fathers to our Dramatic but equally funny mums. Here are some things that usually happened in a Nigeria home back then.

1 Your mum asks you and your siblings to share a piece of meat.
2 You are a beast until 6pm. You start to hibernate because daddy will soon get back from work.
3 You probably only eat rice on Sundays.
4  After a bottle of Sevenup soda/ Sprite is empty you fill it up with water ( and maybe sugar).
5 You remember those list of noise makers?

6 Those hood birthday parties where the cake is the side of a seasoning cube.
7  Did you ever go inside the house to inform your aunty that: that uncle is outside waiting in exchange for N5?
8  How exciting when they finally buy the Christmas chicken. Don't forget the oversized Christmas clothes.
9 Did you ever make those guns out of paper? and canoe ?
10  Who Remembers police catch thief? Suwe? Ite ? King? Police Catch thief? Kicking? Rubber? Warstart? Gamebox? Tinko? (depending on where you grew up).
11 Did your parents ever buy 100 yards of Ankara and make clothes for the whole family, so yall look like band members on Christmas day (lmao).
12 Oh the struggle for daddy's forgotten change in his pocket..
13 Your mum screams more than Awilo right?
14  Speaking of Awilo. He was Epic. We danced Makossa to death while growing up. Galala too.
15  What happened to those threads girls used to make their hair with. (human hair)?
16  Those  coloured Iceblock (icecream) sold inside nylon/ (lolly)
17. When it is time to share a bottle of Coke, we all wanted to have the bottle and not the cup. who cares if the cup contains more?
We can go on and on.
While most of us had different experiences growing up, We share common experiences that are tied to the Strict/comic yet effective style of Nigerian parenting.

The power of passion and how it brings pain.

I bring a message of hope to passionate people who react to things from their heart. A message of hope for the hurt you feel that the world do not understand. When you ask "How Can" and no one just get it! I was thinking about it this morning and I thought to myself people who are so passionate are care givers, they love, they care, they give and give and give and most times, all they get in return is being unappreciated , being reprimanded or even worse....you can name it.
